Infrastructure such as water, electricity, heat, gas, railways etc are all depending on system to steer, regulate and control the physical processes and perform data aquesition to measure performance, usage, safety etc those system are computer based and modern communication has improved both the efficiency and functionality of the infrastracture itself. However the development towards standard component, protocols and integration with business networks has had a negative impact on the vulnerability and security of the infrastrure.

VIKING is a research project that aim to create tools for risk analysis, develop a requirement baseline and test mitigations againt the current threats.
